to living for oneself. The “one”—Christ—has indeed “died for all”; in consequence “all” are intended to die to living to self as the center of reference as a result of his death for them. Paul’s living for God, for the Corinthians, and not for himself (as in v. 13) illustrates the impact on him of Christ’s love-motivated death for him.
